Providing wedding entertainment and live music at private functions and corporate events in Cape Town, Johannesburg and in the whole of South Africa (as well as overseas) can be described as a dream occupation: It takes you to the most beautiful locations while getting to share and contribute to the most speacial days in people’s lives.
Heather and Kane's special day in February 2015 took us to the elegant Vineyard Hotel and Spa in the leafy Cape Town southern suburb of Newlands!
Top wedding singer proudly provided all the live music and DJ entertainment from the late afternoon to the early hours of the next morning.
The talented ‘Abantu' classical string trio from Hout Bay welcomed the friends and family of the bridal couple in the splendid gardens with magnificent mountain views, victorian water-features and exquisite flowers.
The trio’s diverse repertoire charmed the wedding party who was enjoying canapés and welcome drinks after the marriage ceremony had taken place earlier that afternoon. Photographer Lauren Kriedemann took some amazing pictures of the couple.
Shortly after, the congregation moved to the first floor of the Vineyard Hotel’s function centre where the Top Wedding Singer Quintet welcomed the overjoyed couple by playing some of their favourite swing crooners like Nat Cole’s “L-O-V-E” and Nina Simone’s hit “My Baby Just Cares For Me”.
Watch a clip of the classic “Almost Like Being Love” (by Frederick Loewe & Alan Jay Lerner) filmed by Missing Piece Films’s wedding videographer David Stone during the early evening at Heather and Kane’s Vineyard hotel reception: Ike Moriz Quintet
The five piece wedding band performed live throughout the reception dinner and also played the ‘first dance’ song for the happy newly weds: the international Michael Buble hit “Everything”! Other audience favourites included songs like Bobby Darin’s hit “Beyond The Sea” (did you know that singer Ike Moriz shares a birthday with Mr Darin?),
Dean Martin’s unforgettable “ Sway” and Tony Bennett’s No.1 “The Way You Look Tonight”. Singer Ike Moriz was accompanied by the amazing Amanda Tiffin (piano), Willie van Zyl (clarinet & saxophone), Wesley Rustin (double bass) and Ivan Bell (drums).
Top Wedding DJ then played just the perfect music the audience wanted - keeping everyone dancing till the early hours of the morning! Always a great idea to hire a highly experienced professional DJ to help create a truly unforgettable experience! Wedding coordination on this occasion was done by Ricki-lee Dimech from Chocolate Orange Events.
